Lesson 6 "The Senses"

"The Senses"

Use vivid details, connecting your senses through, smell, touch, sound, even taste. Translate your senses into feelings.

Observe, think. How do things look? How do things feel? How is your mood effected or affected?

Go outside and write a Paragraph or two using your senses. How does it make you feel? Do you feel different when using each of your senses?

Lesson 5 Poems And Taffy

"Poems and Taffy"

One of my favorite thing to do in Creative Writing Class is to cover the entire table with assorted flavors of Salt Water Taffy.
Not only do we get to eat the taffy, we write a POEM all about Taffy!

The only rule in this Lesson, is to write any style of POEM about TAFFY. I suggest you go to the story and buy some to keep you motivated and happy with sugar!

If you wish to share, post in the comment box. Please remember it needs to "G or PG"

Lesson 4 Talking Tales

"Talking Tales"

When one of my kids was little, he used to say that his socks talked. When I was little I would imagine conversations with my stuffed animals and dolls.
Have you ever wondered or imagined, if the things around us lived their own little lives?
Introducing...

"Tales Of The Talking Toothbrush"

I want you to get your toothbrush, or go buy one at the store. Glue dot a pair of googly eyes on the back. Imagine the toothbrush has feelings, secret desires, wishes and problems. Choose from the following scenarios.

1. Help me "TOOTHBRUSH" write a one week diary of my life.

2. They've changed the flavor of my favorite toothpaste. Help Me "TOOTHBRUSH" write a letter of complaint to the manufacturer.

3. I am in love with the toothbrush next door. Help me "TOOTHBRUSH" write a love letter to him/her.

Pictures could be fun! If you wish to post your work, please put it in the comment box. Remember everything needs to be "PG"

The Aspiring Writer

The Aspiring Writer

Just a boy on the verge of authorship, hanging onto a dream! http://porterlunceford.blogspot.com/

I would like to feature  a new blogger, an up and coming Writer/Author.
Porter Lunceford is a writing genius. He is in the submitting process of his "BOOK" which in fact, is in a publishers hands now. (Hoping for a good outcome.)

My name is Porter, I am 15 years old and hanging onto the dream of publishing my books.
I was recently asked "What is something you like to write, besides your books"?
I am a big fan of writing "Fan Fiction". I decided that my first blog post would be about fandom slang.

Fandoms (Or Bandoms) are the network of fans that come after a movie, book, band, etc. is made and brought out to the world. As such members of Fandoms have slang and terms that pertain to them that many people won't understand.
Visit my blog for the rundown on Fandom/Bandom slang.

Lesson 3 Randomly Random

"Randomly Random"

Sometimes our greatest ideas come from things unexpected or "random". Do you ever thrive on going with the flow, no planning, no map?

Okay. Let's do something "random"!
Grab your dictionary. Close your eyes, and put your finger down on the page. Copy down the word closest to your finger.
Do this 15 times.
Count paired words as a single entry.
(Ice Cream would be listed as a single entry word).

Now take your list and shape them into a poem, using 8-10 entries. You can add work it  how ever you want.

Have fun! Be Creative!

Lesson 2 "The scavenger hunt"

The family and I were hanging out, buying sometime before our movie. We watched the the fountain dance to the music, shooting random  droplets of water through the air. I began watching the people around me. "Wouldn't it be kind of fun to pick out random people in public and create characters from them. It would be really cool,if we could actually get a picture with the character subject.
My mind has been spinning at warp speed...
I have an idea!
